[:il]Tuna Tsalnzuk, a kindergarten teacher at the Rehovot branch, joins some ideas that can be done at home in the field of creativity with the children. In detail of the activities, we added emphasis related to vision.
Most importantly, be sure of your child's overall safety. Use only safety accessories that are age-appropriate (not tiny objects that can be put in your mouth or anything else that can be dangerous)
In order for the creative time with the children to be more enjoyable and fun, here are some general highlights to pay attention to:
- Usually when serving children paper they tend to throw or wrinkle it, we propose to paste it with duct tape to the table, which will determine it and prevent it from moving .
- Give your children time, do not rush with them, give them a personal example of how you create your work, and only after a certain time can you mediate the way for them. The product is not what matters in the experience and experience.
- Remember to keep a countertop between the page or work surface and the color you've chosen to work with. (Example: If you decide to use white glue do not put it on a white plate but on a plate with better contrast, a dark color on which the white paste will stand out. Another example: stickers that stick to white paper are better off not being as bright as yellow)
- Text the kids everything they do and see ("Now we'll take the lemon, split it in half and dip it in red." one.. two.. And three and now let's put on the page, "Wow cute, look at my finger blue." "Where does Mom have a sticker?… The sticker on Mom's nose…")
- Don't be afraid to get dirty and for the kids to get dirty, you can always clean and wash your hands at the end of the activity.
- You can use any material in the house and recycle it for doge: toilet paper rolls, old shoe boxes, cornflakes boxes, cardboard, corks and lids of old boxes, bottles or plastic containers. Any accessory can become a creative material that can be painted, pasted, or cut.
- Remember that children of this age explore and experience everything and this is how they discover the world. Our goal is to expose them as much as possible to new things and at the same time give them confidence in everything they do and discover and that they will only enjoy their investigation, if you put color in your mouth you can gently take out and say "don't put the color in your mouth". With the color painted on the page.."
- Put some paint on the table or on paper it is better to sit with them and put some color to ourselves as well and experience ourselves. It is very, very important not to try to take the child's hand and force the paint. Give him the time he needs to want himself and feel safe experimenting and touching color.
- You can also take a pom-pom or a circle of cotton wool to put a color in a plate, give the children a sheet and let the child dip the pom or cotton wool in color and then draw with it on paper. You can also use ear sticks or any accessory that fits as a mark on the page.
- If there is a possibility to cut a piece of fruit like lemon, orange or vegetable like cucumber and dip it in color then on top, it will work on the principle of seals.
- Take large round stickers preferably in dark or luminous colors but not bright (because the page is white and needs to produce contrast) stick on the hand or nose or on the chin the sticker and let the child try to download it and fully mediated (literally help him hand in hand) paste it on the page.
In this way, we will work both on the day of the various body organs and on the delicate motor.
- Some children can draw a thick, bounded shape (thick line) in black or another prominent color (for a circle or large triangle on the page) and instruct the child to glue the stickers inside the shape. The work must be fully mediated with the child.
- Give your children a chalk of wax paint with a sheet of paper, remember that the children are experimenting and exploring everything that comes into their hands, give them the option, after a few moments you will take another color and try to knock on the page with the color and then rattle with the color on the page. The child needs to see and find that something has happened and something new has been created on the page. After that, you can try to take the hand of the child with which you will try to scribke on the page.
Plastic adhesive:
- Put some plastic glue on the plate, on the second plate you will prepare aggregates (pieces of jigsaw puzzle, large paper clippings even from old magazines or colored and fully mediated papers (your hand on the child's hand) you will start dipping each aggregate in the glue and pasting on the paper. Do not be afraid to let the child touch the glue and since it begins to have sticky hands, let him feel the sensation and explore it.
- Dry flowers, small flowers or anything from nature that can also be glued to the page can be collected with the children from the garden.
The children will enjoy the collection and the shared experience and will be exposed to the knowledge of the objects and will learn their characteristics (green leaf, dry leaf, small sticks and more)
Salt dough:
Recipe for making soft homemade salt dough (in the style of "Flydo"):
Three cups of flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoons lemon salt
1/4 cup oil
Two cups of boiling water
Knead everything together J and the dough is ready
The dough can be painted with gouache colors
Refrigerate in a closed box
- Working with textures such as salt dough and clay is mainly for the feeling and experience of new textures and sensations.
Additional desktop creation materials:
Guests can use herbal whipped cream in the refrigerator or prepare edible jally for their children according to the preparation instructions on the packaging. After it cools down and has difficulty letting them use it on the table, feel the texture, touch, explore the color and also the taste.
Plasticine:
You can cut small clay rings and together with the children pick up one by one (working on the grip of "tweezers") and "smear" them with you on the page. This activity strengthens the skill of fine motor skills.
Drawing on a sandy texture, somehow:
(e.g. flour, salt, sugar, semolin on a black tray) When a child is engaged in painting, he builds the foundations for writing in the future. How to hold the pencil, how to control pencil movements and create letters. At this age, most children will scribbled, drawing points, and sometimes basic lines. They should be given many opportunities to experiment with painting using different tools and textures.
The image illustrates how to work. Note small but important highlights:
- As you can see it is important to pay attention to the contras of the colors. And in our case it is best to take a mold of an oven that is black (usually), if not then look for a tray or even a dark dish and use a substance that is light (sugar, flour, salt)
- In addition, it is a good idea to diversify the materials since each of the materials still feels different. During the game in the material, the use of the index finger while bending the rest of the fingers is an important developmental milestone in fine motors.
- Remember that children will try to put the powders in their mouths and taste them. Therefore, first of all, one should not be afraid to taste a little salt or flour. This is part of the experience from the investigation and the information of the world they acquire. (You can also transcribe the feeling to them at this time.." The salt is salty, hmmm how sweet the sugar…")
* Note that the tray is well connected to the table
Works with Galili Nir Toilet
Another option is to use toilet paper rolls to create drawings in the principle of stamps below:
- Of course, here too there are highlights that should be noticed as we previously set out: it is worth sticking the page with a tape recorder to the table, paying attention to color differences between the table and the paper and the colors that are used in them, and giving the child the opportunity to understand the situation. It is a good idea to get ahead of time and tell the child in advance what you are going to do, what you will use, etc. In addition, if you have an option, it is advisable to show him the symbol of the agenda.
Experiencing this type of creation contributes greatly to the development of the delicate motor that is important for the development of the child in general and for our wonderful children in particular. Stamping is great for strengthening the shoulder belt, developing a good seating position and a strong shoulder belt is also an important basis for painting and writing in the future.
In addition, encourage your child to use one hand to support the plate while holding the bottle in the other.
- Another thing found in almost every house are the plastic bottles which are very easy to turn into beautiful magical spring flowers…. "How do you know spring comes? … "Looking around… If possible, show their child a flower, place an emphasis on each part of the flower" petals, stem, and petals. Then you can sit at the table and create your own flowers.
Create a beetle from the bottom of the bottle
- As a first thing, we would like to show the children a real Beetle Moshe Rabino. In the current situation, it is quite difficult for us to show the beetle in reality, but you can always find a picture of it enlarged online or even a short video that shows the beetle up close.
- The use is usually in large plastic bottles so that children will have an easier time painting.
- It is important after cutting the bottle to pass with a candle or lighter on the cut itself so that it is not cut from the sharp wall.
- Instead of a smakker head as shown in the picture you can also use the cork of the bottle. Just paint it black.
- The connection of the head and body is usually done by hot adhesive but it is possible to use a contact glue or three seconds (any strong adhesive)
- Eyes of course can be drawn or made with clay or even made from paper, and paste.
- The deifactants can be made from a pipe cleaner, or through an alternative can be tooth magic (watch out for the tip..)
This work requires a great deal of work by your parents and every child of his age and level of development can be an active partner. The key point here will be your level of cooperation and a transcription of what is happening at the time of creation.
For older children you can let decide and choose from the materials in the house what will be everything,( Itamar… What do you think you can make the beetles' head out of… How do you think we can make the beetles' senses? Remember that children have a highly developed imagination and their creativity has no limits…
